![]() The gambling industry has come up with a new way of luring people into gambling and this type of gambling is most appropriately titled “Online Gambling”. You bet, gambling has spread from homes, bingo halls and casinos to the Internet. You see as banners on your favorite web sites and in your e-mails linking to gambling sites sent from huge mailing lists. The Internet offers technologically advanced arcade style gambling in every form, from lotto to bingo, and from your poker to roulette. It seems just as exciting as being right with your personal dealer. The colors, sounds and animations are all luring you in to sneak a peek. Not only is Online Gambling a convenient way to gamble in your own home, Online Gambling is really easy to locate. The sad part is, it is a little too easy to locate and gamble. The easy access of this bank-account threatening trend is what we are worried about. Online Gambling is an easy way for kids to gamble, and even for kids and teens to start gambling. To start gambling at the websites, you need to register your name, location, and other information that they need to verify your age and identification. But the first part that is included in every form of “adult only” site is a password that verifies your age. With the simple push of a credit card number or social security number the site can be entered. Now, registered under a parent’s name, the student can access their parent’s bank account without warning. The sites feature games that often advertise as free. This is not always true because what most fail to notice is that it is just luring you in to their business. Once you put a bet down it is hard to stop. Then you notice that it is not free anymore and has not been for the past few bets made. Remember nothing is free in life. I am not just talking about spending money, but the risk-taking better known as gambling. |
