The Kids Plus Conference encourages kids to actively participate in their
schools, churches, and communities. This year, Wanna Bet?(tm) Magazine and
Junior Editor Amanda played an important part in the Kids Plus Conference.
Wanna Bet?'s(tm) workshop was called Wanna Sing? Wanna Draw? Wanna Be a Star? First they wrote a song, and then they sang it, while Katy danced.
This song and these kids are going to be on TV! Watch for it!

Speaking of music, did you know:

In 1632, natives of the South Sea Islands spoke into sponges, then squeezed
them to hear their own voices...o.k.

Did you know that Thomas Edison invented the first phonograph in 1877? He
had no idea when he invented this contraption that it would one-day lead to
music on cassette tapes, CDs, and more.

And going way back in time, a Chinese prince was the first to reproduce the
human voice. He accomplished this by speaking into a box and somehow, when
he raised the lid, he could hear his voice.  VERY COOL!
