Do dreams really come true? Dreaming is believing, and daring is achieving. Work hard toward your goals. Decide what you want to be. If you want it badly enough, would you be willing to do anything for it? Please, don’t think you can’t do it just because you are a girl or a boy, or you’re too small or too old.

Stars.gif (18397 bytes)Some people have dreams to be doctors, some to be cashiers, or an astronaut. Anything from a pro basketball player to an Olympic medallist. Yet some people have set their dreams on winning the lottery. Our dreams only get us half way there. When we decide when and what we want to do and how we want to get there, WE NEED TO DARE. And certainly, I am not talking about daring to buy another lottery ticket or betting on another round of poker. Dreaming will make reality knock on your door a little sooner. Daring will make your life, but daring to dream will make your life worth it.

Don’t think you have to choose what you want to be now. If you do decide or have an idea about what you want to be, don’t feel bad or doubt being able to change your mind. Ever since I was five years old, I have wanted to be a pro football player. I had my mind on being the first woman pro, and can you believe that? l I had my mind absolutely set on it. Then it came to joining the pee-wee league. I took one look at those pants and said "No way. I am not wearing those!" Of course that one little unsatisfaction with my dream caused me to discover other things like drama and singing and art.

Many dreams start when you are a young child. A child may dream about the little puppy he or she wants without even thinking of the responsibilities and hard work it will be taking care of it. As children grow older, their dreams change from being a housewife and having babies to being president of the United States of America. And to achieve these dreams you must be willing to work hard toward your dreams, and being educated by going to school is of utmost importance.

Kids and Adults will dream of winning money in the lottery and not focus on any other of their dreams, because the thought of being an instant millionaire (without doing anything for it) is overwhelming compared to going to college for 4 years and actually work for it. The sad fact with any type of gambling is that it’s not a real goal you can achieve. The odds are never in your favor, you always lose, even if you win. Dream to achieve. Dream to make a difference in someone else’s life, or even in your own.
